About Emily
I was born and raised in Utah County and have chosen to raise my kids in Lehi. I currently serve as one of Lehi City's Planning Commissioners, a role that I’ve proudly held for the past four years. Professionally, I am the Vice President of Corporate Strategy at a local steel fabrication company, where I focus on developing and implementing strategic initiatives across the business. I have a Bachelors degree from the University of Utah and a Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University.
As a mom of two energetic boys, I spend most afternoons on the sidelines of soccer games or exploring Utah’s great outdoors. I love to golf and enjoy building complex Lego sets.
Contributions to Lehi
Planning Commission
Like many of you, I’ve felt frustrated by the challenges that rapid growth and development have brought to our city over the past 15 years. Four years ago, I decided to be part of the solution by applying to serve on the Lehi City Planning Commission. Mayor Mark Johnson appointed me, and the City Council unanimously confirmed my appointment. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours studying the issues, understanding the planning process, and seeking practical, creative solutions—not just for Lehi, but for our region as a whole.
In my time on the Planning Commission, I’ve made administrative, legislative, and judicial decisions that directly impact residents and the future of our city. I’ve listened to public input, challenged proposals when necessary, negotiated with developers, and pushed for code changes that better serve our community.
This experience has given me a deep understanding of how municipal government works and how deeply it affects our daily lives. I remain committed to defending property rights, preserving our freedoms, and making sure Lehi’s growth is guided by common sense and conservative values.
Alpine School District Split
Last year I actively engaged in the Prop 11 (Central) and Prop 14 (West) campaigns to split Alpine School District. For Prop 14, I donated to the cause and encouraged my friends in the West district to vote for the split. I also donated to the Prop 11 campaign and was involved in developing and executing on the messaging and strategy. I was on weekly campaign calls to ensure voters had the information they needed to make the right decision.
I supported the split because I believed Alpine School District had reached a breaking point and was no longer effective at serving the diverse needs of our students and teachers. I was grateful to see that every precinct in Lehi overwhelming supported the split and that it passed in both areas. I look forward to seeing what our new school board accomplishes and wish them all the best!
Lehi Serves
Last year I participated in the service activities organized by Lehi Serves. I enjoyed the opportunity so much that I volunteered to serve on the Lehi Serves committee. We have events coming up this year that are going to be awesome and I encourage everyone to participate!
